September 2012

This month we have structural steelwork and a tube clamp contract.

The steelwork in the picture is for a loft conversion.
These were drilled and finished red oxide primer.

The above picture is of the cut tubes ready for drilling in order to hang them for powdering. The bottom picture is of the tubes completed ready for delivery.

We undertook the 30 metres of keeklamp contract with a very fast turnaround time. The tubes were cut to length, and powder-coated blue. Also all of the fittings were powder-coated blue.

Later this month we will be manufacturing a metal door and undertaking some more steelwork for a London based client.

We have received a lovely photograph of a project that has now been completed by our customer-we manufactured the frame for this table and the top has been cut and fixed by our customer-it is eucalyptus wood.A useful and pretty addition for any garden-complete with tea!

August 2012

This month as promised includes the bespoke fire basket, some galvanized support tables for a different type of project-more on that later. Also a art deco style bracket.

The above fire basket was made for a customer as a one off piece as their fireplace opening was too narrow for a standard basket that could be purchased. The bottom picture shows the front in closer detail. The two cones which sit either side of the centre ball where machined by our friend Alan who is a real whizz on our lathe-thank you Alan-you put us all to shame again with your lathe skills!!

The other piece for this month is a art deco style bracket to hold an old ships bell.Pictured above.Finished black gloss paint.

The picture to the right is of three galvanized raised grid support tables. These look a normal type of job for us to undertake-it was very interesting to find out their final use though.
Our customer will be placing bags of wood pellets for a domestic wood pellet burner system onto the tables. This will provide heat and hot water for his home via the wood burning furnace .This is the new green way forward for the use of sustainable energy. Very interesting and different.

Autumn will soon be upon us-lets hopefully enjoy some sunny days before then.

Metalworking

July 2012

This month sees the above stairwell framework project leaving the workshop to be lifted by mobile crane onto a roof in Westminster-just in time before the Olympics start. We added the wheels so it could be pushed onto the road ready for the HIAB pick up.We are now fixing a new staircase in Croydon and will complete the project with new gates and fencing. Also coming up for the gallery will be a fire basket and a art deco hanging bracket. Also completing various pieces of Metalwork for our building trade customers.A busy time and enjoying the challenge of meeting deadlines and communicating with our many customers.

Look out for the gallery updates-coming to our website this month.

May 2012 update

We have just completed the above installation of this curved ramp rail, all made by hand with no posh machinery involved.Weather needs to improve and some drier days for site fixing would be a bonus!
This is our first blogspot so bear with us-these will be undertaken on a monthly basis. The next update will show our bare metal to finished product.(can you guess what it is yet!).
We will also be adding more pictures to the website gallery.
